The WhiteHouse is proud to exhibit works by local artists year round. Our lounge and foyer areas double as gallery space. If there is a piece that speaks to you, you can purchase a lasting memento of your visit to Nelson, and help support our local artist community.

Current exhibitions
Marilyn McCombe loves to “build a painting” and finds meaning in the act. She aims to evoke a particular mood through the use of colour and composition in each piece. Her works range from landscape, figurative and still life, to semi abstract pieces. A collection of some of Marilyn’s works are currently on display at The WhiteHouse. Recent exhibits
Dawn Roy gained inspiration to pick up a paintbrush after her travels through Europe. Her photographs of people she met along the way led to a series of portraits that capture the essense of her subjects’ personalities through use of colour, light and shadow. For Dawn, painting is a form of expression that allows her to surrender herself to the joy of creation, and to open others’ eyes to the beauty that the world and everyone in it holds.
Susan Parr relocated to Nelson in 2004 and set up her own studio at her North Shore home. She also conducts workshops and classes at Oxygen Art Centre and Sellkirk College and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and Inspiring Minds. Bryn Stevenson noted landscape artist presents a variety of works including new abstract winter landscapes. Opening reception evening with wine & cheese & beats: 6-10pm Friday, 3rd December. Exhibition runs through January, 2011.
Ink drawings of Nelson and other rural areas by former Winlaw resident Barbara Wilson, who has been creating art since the 1950s, and has exhibited at The WhiteHouse as part of the annual Artwalk summer art festival in Nelson.
